Treasuring the times, treasuring family

My last few post focus alot on precious lessons that God taught me as well as some of my life journey and there are many more to come in my posts next week. But today, i will just relax and share some thoughts with you.

Time really flies and i remember this picture was was taken some time early last year. And yes, its in SINGAPORE! We need to pause sometimes and give thanks to God for this life that we are living, for our loved ones, our physical and spiritual family. We normally rush through each day without contemplating on what really matters. I realise what really matters is that each day we live fufilling His purposes, being a blessing to others and treasuring what God has given to us. Just as God gave His unconditional love to us while we are yet sinners, i also want to live that life giving and sowing unconditionally.

This is an old picture taken just maybe 3 years ago 2004 (i think). Since then many things have changed, many things have happened. But in all things, today i just want to give thanks for every life featured here of my spiritual sons. I realise time or events shouldnt determine sonship. In the past week, i have committed to pray for one thing in every of my spiritual sons life till i see it happen.

Today, would you give and be a blessing unconditionally to someone?

Be like a Child

This is a picture of Justin, one of my favourite kid at sunday school in Timothy Club. Isnt he cute??!!! And guess what! He is putting on the Helmet of Salvation that we made together!!! Well, most of the helmet was made by myself and given to him free...all he did was to accept it and wear it..

Isnt salvation the same? God gave himself to us freely so that we can recieve not only salvation but every promise and blessings that come from the cross. The only condition on our part is to recieve and believe just like a little child.

Dear spiritual children, today may you grow in Child-like faith. God is good but unless we become like a little child, we will never inherit all of His promises.

Final Day of Reservist: BE my Hands,Mouth and Feet!

Finally, this reservist period has come to an end. To my new found friend and brother in Christ Iain,if you are reading this, remember to press on and shine for the Lord!

Indeed, this reservist period reminded me again that we need to be the hands, the feet and the mouth of the Lord. On friday, i finally decided to share Christ with one last person at the prompting of the Spirit.

This new friend that i came to know in the past week in the RSAF office was born without a lower arm on both hands and lack a few fingers. The 1st day i met him, i was filled with compassion for him because i knew God's love was special for this person because he was born special. We had breakfast together the past week, and breaks together, just brfriending him and making sure he feels accepted and loved. Finally on Fri i decided to share God's love for him.

I was suprise when he told me that he only heard of Jesus as a man with some beliefs and teaching and he didnt know about God's love and someone dying for him and his sins. He listened intently as i share with him and i asked him to memorise and recieve John 3:16 for his life. Praise the Lord!

Indeed how would anyone know the Good news if we do not speak and how will anyone know of His love if we do not first show it? Bless you my spiritual children that we will be a tribe that demostrates God's love and power. Would you be the hands, mouth and feet of the Lord today?

How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?Romans 10:14

OCB be GONE in Jesus Name!

A young man walked into the camp's office on Monday where i am serving my Reservist. He was downgraded and waiting to be posted out. It was not long that i that i came to know he was suffering was a psychological disorder known as Obessive Compulsive Behaviour (OCB). He needs to spend time cleaning his hands for at least 40 minutes after passing motion, and rinse his buttocks not less than 50 times. So a visit to a toliet can last for an hour.

The Holy Spirit spoke to me clearly that i need to minister to him and be a PASTOR to the people not just in church but everywhere the Lord put me. The Lord asked me"Do you believe that he can be healed? "

I came to know he was a Christian on Tuesday. It was not long before he began opening up to me and said that his leaders told him to seek professional help. There was a deep dissatisfaction in my heart because God can and do heal! I said " In Jesus name, you will be set free from this bondage! Do you believe?". He nodded in agreement. Immediately i declared victory over his condition and said from now you are going to rinse your buttocks only 5 times and spend not more than 1 minute washing your hands! You can be set free from this bondage because Jesus has broken every curse and healed all of our diseases.

I spoke with authority in a way i have never spoken before. Keep in mind this is in the middle of the RSAF office surrounded by non- Christians.

Today, this boy came to me similing. "Coporal ... i wash my buttocks only 5 times instead of 50 times." I dont feel its dirty after just 5 times of washes. I am better. I told him " Hallejulah, now lets find victory over the washing hands. Not more than 1 min ok? Pray and declare victory! He nodded.

Indeed this is a year of Victory! Would you allow God to make you a pastor over where He has placed you? Go from salt to Light this year!

Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains in pieces."

Psalm 107:13-14

Adrian...You got a problem..

"Adrian...You got a problem" says the doctor. "Its a condition call Mitral Valve Prolapse or MVP for short". It all began in the year 1994 where all good citizens go for medical checkup in preparation for the army, where i was followed up by a heart specialist after initial checkup found irregular heartbeats.

I could see my heart beating in the ultra sound screen and the pictures were taken of my heart as the doctor explains my condition. With hard core proof of visual pictures of my heart vavles, I was certified Pes C as a result and no vigourous activity was permitted. If not, it may result in heart failure or infection.

It was the year 1998. An altar call was given in the church for those with heart problems. Initially, i stood aside thinking it wasnt for me, till a still soft voice of God says" I will heal you today, take a step of faith". I went forward, and as Pastor Khong prayed, i could sense in my spirit God did a work of healing.

Of course, i wont know. But in just 2 weeks time due to a new policy that i took up, my financial planner reverted a complusory medical checkup. This "famous" heart specialist (because AIA always get the best) after taking Xrays and ultra sound scans and visuals could not see anything wrong with my heart! The valves were normal and ok! He declared that maybe the financial planner wants to increase premium and ask me if i am certain i had MVP because he can't find anything. I showed him my old records and pictures of my heart in previous ultrasound and again he was kinda suprise comparing it with what he saw...

I knew God healed me that day in 1998 in TC auditorium. It was amazing. In fact just 2 months ago, i went for a Ministry of Education medical review that had my Old medical records from the army, and again they send me to a heart specialist at Raffles Hospital to do a scan. Nothing could be detected and they remove my old medical records condition of MVP.

The doctor said " Adrian you got a problem"
God says: "Adrian, there is no problem too big for me"

In this year of victory, lets claim our rightful inheritances in the Lord. In Him, all things are possible!

God is Not a Silent friend

Have been serving my reservist the past 2 days and in the coming week. Its a time of discipline again, as i follow through to do the things that seem routine, boring and regimental. However, i manage to take time inbetween to pray and ask the Lord to give me open doors to minister to anyone. In this two days, God led me to know a new brother in Christ and i had a divine chance to minister to him and speak words of faith and testimony in his life. I could see change. His desire too was to be bolder in evangelism and it was a good time to see how we could reach other NSFs among us.

Indeed God listens to our prayers. But more than that, these 2 days have also been good time drawing near to the Lord, listening to his voice and speaking to him.

God is NOT a silent friend. God wants to speak to you personally. He wants you to hear His voice. (John 3-5). Drawing near to the Lord opens the Door for Him to fellowship and communicate with you. His desire is to teach you (Pslam 32:8-10), lead you into truths and show you things to come. John 16:13-15).

Would you draw near to Him today?

The Return of the Hero! God's Word Made Alive!

Clenching my fist, i said "OH NO!"....i am going to make a fool of myself again. Its been 7 years. This time i was suppose to prepare a 3 min speech on any topic before the class and graded based on how well i communicate and speak!

I only got one week! Just thinking of it brought shivers down my spine. The fear of rejection and the fear of speaking was real. The only difference this time is that i know someone...someone special..His name is Jesus! The Lord spoke to me from Exodus 4:12 Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." I claim the promise,spoke it to my spirit man and asked my leader t0 lay hands on me before the class that week.

I spoke like i never spoke before. I was suprised at myself. God literally gave me the words to speak and the boldness to proclaim his message. Classmates surrounded me after class, they cheered, they were impressed.

God's Word was made alive in me that day. I returned like a Hero.

Would you wield the Sword of the Spirit today? You CAN return like a Hero.
